also today i almost definitely pissed off my colleague by totally derailing class when i brought up buying blank cds and not liking streaming services/shitting on spotify. vinny, if you're reading this, i'm sorry. it (probably) won't happen again.

so today, i downloaded iTunes 4 from my best friend in the whole wide world, the internet archive, and now i can burn my favorite happy cybergirl anime songs onto CDs again. the thirteen year old girl who still lives inside me is happy and that's all that matters.

Kickstarter officially banning adult content now. Knew this was coming, but it still sucks to have yet another part of the internet that I've been explicitly evicted from. Digital gentrification is exhausting.

I don't think it's because of a major societal trend, or because we're sick of social media. It's because the platforms are bad now. Conservatives hijacked the Twitter and Tiktok algos. The Instagram and YouTube algos have been hijacked by clip farmers, and those platforms also have too many ads.

There's something that particularly boils my blood about seeing an infantile euphemism like 'spicy' used in an official policy document that will ruin the lives of so many creators. Ugh.

Climate change is essentially an imperialist project. As American imperial hegemony collapses and the petrodollar weakens, the rest of the world is free to actually finally do the infrastructure work needed to avoid the worst-case scenarios of climate change. America is mattering less and less.

At this point, solving climate change is cheaper than not solving it -- not only on some grand 50 year time horizon, but tomorrow, today, immediately. Soving climate change *is* affordability. Maybe Dems should tell voters about that.

We honestly don’t talk enough about how the GOP is just allowed to shit on urban cities. If Dems pulled this with rural areas, it would be on the news cycle for WEEKS!

The anti-psychopharmacology movement is an unending wellness grift deployed as perpetual rhetorical cover fire. It’s designed to separate people from the tools they need to survive and convince them their inability to do so without medical help is reflective of a personal failing.

If HHS was actually interested in reducing reliance on medications as front line therapies, they would address the impossibility of finding an affordable therapist. They would address the declining belief in humanity’s future through war and anthropogenic climate change. They would build housing.

There’s no medical reason to reduce the use of SSRIs just for the sake of doing so. They save countless lives daily, including mine. The HHS preoccupation with reducing their use is an intentional misdirection away from the true problems facing mental health: the world they’ve created is unlivable.
