Incredibly sad to hear that @raulpachecovega.bsky.social has passed away. He was an incredibly smart and generous scholar. I only knew him from Twitter and here, but every interaction i was fortunate to have with him, showed someone who cared about helping others understand the world.

Journalists aren’t some special class of people, but their role is unique. It’s supposed to be non-engaged with any party on the ground. Just documenting. When they get injured or arrested, it illustrates the intensity of violence being deployed by the state against everyone else.

Before the event I attended a letter writing campaign for Morelle, which was... Interesting. His campaign hosts weekly letter writing and call campaigning, which is how many attendees were invited today. Which I appreciate, right, these folks volunteer a ton of time!

This afternoon I attended an event and got to spend some time with Congresswoman Sarah McBride. I got pretty emotional when she was introduced, not something I was expecting. But she's just as amazing in person to hear speak and chat with as she appears in interviews and shows. Truly amazing.

For non- Spanish speakers, this is announcement of the passing of Raúl Pacheco Vega. It doesn’t say when or what happened, but comments on his work and how generous he has been to colleagues not just at his home institution but around the world.

I am completely shocked by this tragic news. I really can't believe it. Raúl Pacheco-Vega was an outstanding scholar who did so much to promote good scholarship. Utterly devastating news.

Dem leadership could have spent the past 20 years cultivating a younger generation, actually two younger generations, into leadership. If they wanted to. They clearly didn't want to, they're all senile and busy dying in office.

I did. It was so much fun! I took 6? Qual methods classes instead of the two required for the degree. I graduated WELL OVER the credits needed for my PhD because I cared more about developing skills.

I just learned that the principal edu influencer who walks around with the cart and uses thinly veiled regressive discipline rhetoric leads a charter school that uses aggressive and discriminatory tactics to weed kids out, and now his whole shtick makes much more sense.

This to me is spiritually the same as the "we have no hierarchy here because we all dress casually" in tech lol

I think it would be cool for PhD programs to have "sister" programs where you could take methods courses elsewhere. My program/advisor believes qual methods have A Way but the more I read all of you, articles, and methods books it's more like A Feel rather than A Way.
