People have been convicted of felony murder for crimes where they weren't even PRESENT in some states. Ryan Holle lent a friend his car! He thought the friend was joking about going to rob someone with it. Nope, not joking, the victim died, and Holle got a life sentence, later commuted to 25 years.

This causes ridiculous situations where, say, Person A steals a car, the cops shoot at them, miss because cops can't fucking shoot, and kill the 80 year old grandma walking her dog, not only will Person A be charged with murdering Grandma, but so will anyone who helped plan the car theft.

Second, the felony murder doctrine. It's complicated, I'm oversimplifying, but the short version: if Person A commits a felony, and someone dies during the commission of that felony, EVEN IF PERSON A didn't cause it, Person A *and* their "accomplices" can be (and often are) charged with murder.

Do not assume that everything they set out to do is inevitable. They have been successfully fought on multiple fronts, from courtroom wins that have actually stuck to city and state governments that haven't backed down, to activists in the streets organizing against their violence.

My optimism here is limited, but I really hope centrist institutions like universities and major news organizations understand that the plan is for the govt to dismantle them. They do not care if you fire your columnists or discipline staff for accurately quoting Kirk. They just want us all gone.
