Top 5 Survival Horror game for me, definitely worth your time and cash.

Not to be overly combative, but Silent Hill f is absolutely a Silent Hill game, as long as your understanding of the series goes deeper than “American Town“ and “rusted metal + chains”

Anders being almost completely removed from the post Dragon Age 2 games in the series and my interest in the latter games nosediving isn't a coincidence the more I think about it. Inquisition's plot just... fails to grab me in any way aside from its companions and Corypheus is a huge part of that.

Silent Hill f looked strong from the trailers and the early buzz being largely positive has me very happy and more hopeful for this one. I think getting away from the titular town might actually be good for the series in the long run so fingers crossed that it lands for me.

So I guess I'm not getting anything productive done until Silksong is finished huh I think I'm getting close to the end of Act 2 but keep finding new stuff I missed so I have no idea.

At the Gates are such an important band in the history of extreme metal and losing Tomas Lindberg is a rough one to process. Genuinely, without both his music and a whole lotta bands inspired by it, I would not be the same person in terms of musical taste today.

I get some of the complaints around Silksong's difficulty but idk, I'm loving the challenge so far. I've yet to encounter a runback that was truly egregious and most of the bosses make sense after a few tries. Only one has kept me stuck on it for more than an hour though I suspect that'll change.

Finished Heartworm. Enjoyed it overall but I was left wishing there was more meat on its bones. Wasn't really any combat variety and puzzles felt very simple for the genre. The graphics and music and overall vibe of the game are great and I'd still recommend it. But it was slightly disappointing.

So it turns out this Silksong game is pretty good whodathunk it Jokes aside after the first couple hours where it's easing you back in this game gets GOOD with its boss fights. Cleared a couple that had me extremely hyped by the end of them.

It's a weird feeling that I can't find my copy of Silent Hill HD Collection. I know it's objectively the worst version of 2 and 3 and I have no intention of playing it as I have both on OG hardware, but it is an interesting historical artifact that I tried to hold onto as such.

I delayed going back to Nier: Automata for like five and a half years mostly out of fear it wouldn't live up to my first experience with the game. Started my 100% run and yeah, it lands for me just as much as it did back then. It still has its jank but the game still feels amazing to play.

The problem with being deeper into this TRPG prototype than I expected is that I still have 100,000+ words of a manuscript to edit and refine that I want to finalize this year. Only so many hours a day and I got a lot to do.

Pushing through the suck is hard but making progress on the shiny new project is rad and keeping me motivated. I'm way ahead of where I thought I'd be in two months time and if my post-grad 2014 self who couldn't fathom how to do this project could see it, he'd be popping off right now.

2ish weeks in Godot and I built a very basic isometric TRPG map and action menu. Working on refining the code and fixing bugs before I add more features. I did some things the wrong way due to learning the engine and need to fix them now that I know better.

Diving deeper into my silly little Godot project to cope with - *gestures wildly* I went from "don't know how TileMapLayers work" to "can move some lil guys on a grid and make them fight other lil guys" in a week and that's the foundation for this whole thing. Making very good progress.
