Just learnt that my new book will be held in the library at the Sixth Floor Museum (the former Texas School Book Depository). Obviously, I’m insanely happy about this.

I signed up for a duck.com email address that delivers mail to your regular account but scans for trackers first. I use that address whenever I order stuff online. I never use Amazon (not since 2014) yet regardless of who I buy from, I regularly get this in their emails. I bloody hate Amazon

Archaeology is not just about the past, but the entanglements of multi-temporal lived experiences across landscapes. In the last 2 weeks I learned a lot about sheep from a farmer who uses the same landscapes that in the Neolithic was being carved. There was much distress over pregnant sheep.... 1/

Only found three teeth today 🥰 Searching for 90 minutes, and all three came along in 5 minutes. Still need to learn about identification, but largest could be from a Megalodon, a shark that could grow to around 24 metres (78 feet) long

The difference in online versions of paintings, like these 2 examples of Forum Romanum for Mr Soane’s Museum - Joseph Mallord William Turner, exhibited 1826, are so annoying if you haven't seen the original, and don't know which photo depicts the painting accurately.

National Museums Liverpool is 40! The World Museum has a special exhibition, which opened today, of 40 objects from the stores, chosen by curators and staff to represent the collections. Well worth a visit! My faves included Fido the Lion, casts of the Formby footprints and a dazzleship ferry model.

One of our favourite drawers - the one with the 50 year-old hot cross bun next to the lucky rabbit's foot! According to our records, the bun was made on 16 April 1976 by a former curator (hence the exact dates) but wasn't donated to the Museum until 10 May 1981. Definitely past its sell-by date!
