The painting Lentetuin by Vincent van Gogh, which was stolen in 2020 and recovered by me and the Dutch police in 2023, has been beautifully restored and can be seen again at the Groninger Museum starting today.

Of this painting by Picasso, Dora Maar, only a black-and-white photo was known. The work has resurfaced, and now we can finally see it in color. It will be auctioned at Drouot auction house. It reminds me of the stolen Dora Maar which I recovered in 2019.

The painting by Ghislandi, stolen and smuggled to Argentina after World War II by Nazi criminal Kadgien, and displayed above the sofa in his daughter's home, has been seized by Argentine police. More updates on looted WWII paintings to follow. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: Argentine police apparently recovered the Ghislandi. The painting, once owned by Jewish art dealer Goudstikker, was taken to Argentina in the 1940’s by Kadgien, an associate of Göring and SS member. www.batimes.com.ar/news/culture...

Story of the Day: Ghislandi's Portrait of a Lady, once owned by Jewish art dealer Goudstikker, was looted by the Nazis and acquired by SS member Kadgien. Kadgien fled to Argentina. Dutch journalists recently discovered the painting in photos of his daughter’s home, hanging above her sofa.

Leonardo Patterson, one of the biggest looters of antiquities of all times, has died. I met him many times and he was convicted twice because of my testimony. Somehow we still got along well. A colorful man. My next book will be about him. Quite a story. Rest in peace, Leonardo
