An organization like FIRE is going to look at this and conclude the problem is with faculty, who are insufficiently heterodox, and not with the fact that one political party has made it their goal to dismantle my profession and everything I do. Why would we vote for those who openly hate us?

This is utterly baffling. You were going to get your majority one way or another. Why would you bring one of the most batshit crazy anti-vaxxer SoCons in Canadian politics into your party? You did not need Gladu, and any respectable political party shouldn't want her.

In all seriousness this is a huge issue with the subsidized right wing bullshit machine. Articles written by well-funded news βfoundationsβ are syndicated out with no paywalls. This is subsequently rewarded in several ways.

Just did my 1st peer review of an AI-generated paper. There was enough formatting/citation weirdness in the manuscript to make me run Opus 4.6 for an academic integrity check. Sure enough, hallucinations everywhere. This is the new normal. π€¦ββοΈ (I'm also aware of the irony of using AI to catch AI!)
