Thinking about this Neverwinter Nights 1 campaign I played that had a side quest with a talking bush, which asked you to find a rock, then take the rock's stash of weapons. When you do loot the rock, it only has oil. If you bring it back to the bush, it laughs at you and takes the oil.

Recently a right wing faux-outrage campaign targeted a college in my area. On reddit and bsky, there is hardly a peep about it (because it was a nothing story). Twitter, meanwhile, is trying to push the bad actors' narrative as hard as possible. It's a major tool for right wing propaganda now.
