It’s the same issue in Greenland: there are minerals and oil, but EVERYTHING has to be boated or flown in, there’s currently NO industrial infrastructure, and it’s HARD work in unpleasant temperatures. All that and then the environmental impact means it’s a non-starter.

I just wanna point out that the official language in Greenland is Greenlandic, which has 3 dialects so different from each other they could be classified as individual languages. The second language of most Greenlandic people is Danish. The third language is English.

I (finally) watched the TV show Task. The beginning is slow, but when it picks up, you get hooked. I had to watch it over a couple days because I started watching it in the afternoon. If you have HBO max, I highly recommend it.

I read (part of?) that failed essay. As someone who did well enough in a first year academic writing course that I later got to teach it (twice), I would have failed that paper as well. You can’t just write your personal opinion, “cite” God, then claim discrimination when you get a failing grade.
