Today’s Transgender Day of Visibility. Trans people are strong, powerful, + have always existed. But w/ increased visibility, political backlash has also increased. That’s on full display w/ the introduction of state laws that would require public school employees to “out” LGBTQ+ students.

This is what the opposition did in the Hungary Parliament when they passed the Pride ban. May we have congresspeople with an ounce of the courage.

I can't watch this and say nothing. The arrest of people lawfully here because of things they have said is nothing short of creating a new class of political prisoners. Then sweeping them away to Louisiana to evade the rule of law is atrocious. We cannot stay silent.

Shame on the NH State Legislature for passing 5 anti-LGBTQ+ bills today, overwhelmingly designed to block transgender + gender non conforming people from public life. And we are so proud of the transgender + allied state reps who brought real, powerful stories to the House floor in speeches today.

If they outlaw bans on conversion therapy and allow bans on evidence-based medical care, I don't know if you can escape the conclusion that we now live in a theocracy, where what is legal depends not on the constitution but on the narrow conservative Christian interpretation of their religion.

It would be a real shame if y'all shared this online, printed out a few and hung up all around the Eastern Shore of Maryland. 😉
