The lie that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was justified is still being perpetrated in the US. We live in a country of cognitive dissonance because we have never grappled with this war crime, nor the racist justification for it. There is a reason they did not drop nukes on Europe.

One of the worst parts about late-stage capitalism: I just found out a KZUM DJ friend passed away from cancer. And I have to sit in a "Project Touchbase" call for the next hour and pretend that the world isn't falling apart.

Only about $1.60 of tax dollars per US citizen per year was spent on the public broadcasting budget. If you donate $20 a year, you're covering what your tax dollars would have done. If you do a monthly donation of $7, your donation can equal the tax dollars of 54 people spent on PBS per year.

Actual autism is not the rfk story. Eugenics is. There is *no type of person* that is a burden to be eradicated. One of the ways Trumpers benefit from being loose with words is bc it defines the narrative and makes counter arguments sound academic. Do not eradicate people. Do not abdicty people.

WOW, these baskets are about 9,500 years old! 🤯 Look like they were made yesterday rather than by hunter-gatherers during the Mesolithic! Made of esparto grass, they were found inside the Cueva de Los Murciélagos (Cave of bats), Spain. Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Madrid 📷 by me

Trade deficit. I have bought food from say, Chilis. They have never bought food from me. There is a trade deficit with Chilis. I’m still doing fine. The trade deficit argument SOUNDS compelling, but it’s a straw man with no relevancy

Hi, sending people to El Salvador, if they're not from El Salvador, is not deportation. It's human trafficking, and this entire regime is complicit in crimes against humanity. I hope I live long enough to see them all stand trial with the whole world arrayed against them.

One bummer thing about how Twitter/Bluesky evolved, is that now most of the posts I see are super meaningful, important, vital pieces of information about people or current events. Some days, I just want to stream-of-consciousness myself in mundane moments. Just yeet random crap into the ether.

one of the greatest clergy characters in any movie. Disney's Robin Hood does a remarkably effective job of explaining to children how poverty is an artificial sociopolitical construct which every decent person morally obligated to resist, by breaking the law if necessary - even priests
