Colleague and prolific intellectual @ruha9.bsky.social then cited a lengthy passage in a major lecture this year. When I reached out to thank her, she said, “Why haven’t I seen this before?!” Some things are perhaps slightly ahead of their time, but find their moment. I wish it were not this one.

Maybe, if you're not actually in university classrooms, teaching students in the age of gAI, perhaps you might want to stop and listen when people actually in those classrooms raise concerns about what they are seeing; and not just dismiss us as luddites, or boomers, or cruel profs playing cops

Ed tech people, uni administrators keep pushing gAI on us, and dismissing criticisms. I want them to answer this question: how do you reconcile whatever benefits you proclaim from using LLMs like this if we end up endangering our students like this? Because Adam Raine is not the only case.
