A May 2024 preprint study of 1.2 million kids found 2.32% (about 27,840) experienced post-acute cardiac issues like myocarditis, arrhythmias, or chest pain after COVID. The CDC defines rare conditions as affecting fewer than 1 in 200,000 annually, meaning this is not classified as rare.
