I have been thinking about this a lot recently— wondering if folks would be interested in collaborating on #literacies public scholarship. Building things together?

A5: Would love to see a #literacies chat that takes up (and returns us to) the topic of critical #literacies! How do we understand its communicative capacity to respond to this moment, its utility in naming injustice, and its promise in building more just social futures!

A6: I think a renewed vision of #globalliteracies will need to be part of the future(s) of our field. We have the human and technical tools to get there, so let's get to work! #literacies

For sure! I missed most of the #literacies chat tonight and am catching up. A bunch of doctoral students from MSU were on them from 2015 ish on and I "met" so many scholars and learned about their work that way. Then I met them in person and it was easier to jump right in to conversations.

A6. I love this question too & have been missing so much community. So a #literacies grounded community feels like a beautiful future to live into. It’s been nice to see friends in the space, even if my engagement isn’t what it once was w/ mama duties 💜

A5: I think topical #literacies chats that continue to speak to and empower action in light of the current sociopolitical context are really important.

A5. I’d love to do some collective thinking around #literacies in community building, advocacy and supporting identity development (of course I would 😂) and I love the IDEA of a book club although #lowbandwidth 😅

A5: I really hope we can share more about what #literacies we engage in or have engaged in in our classroom teaching! As a current HS teacher, I’m always looking to make what I’m more engaging with my students. How have we brought together theory and practice ourselves? I'm so curious!

Of course--It's where the notion of playrevolution started. #literacies was the perfect playground for bouncing around ideas!

I would love for us to do something - act in the world. I saw, for instance, someone crowdsourcing legit aid organizations in Jamaica today. Simple, but can be impactful. #Literacies chat could be a great source to do rapid response crowdsourcing of resources, ideas, support, etc.

A4: I'd like to see the #literacies chat expand beyond our once a month conversations. Our team really enjoys putting the chats together, and it would be great to find ways to sustain the momentum generated within these conversations.

A4: I think the biggest challenge is getting more people on this platform for the chat because it is still relatively new. It makes me think of the "bring a friend" idea at gyms, classes, etc. We could try that here! This month's chat has been a great step in that direction. #literacies

Q4 1/2: I would really love to connect with some folks and do (a)synchronous reading groups over #literacies articles or books. I’d love to be more intentional about building community in this way.

THIS! During @drannd.bsky.social 's #literacies chat last month, @profconnors.bsky.social asked about the lack of student voice (broadly) in a lot of censorship conversations, and now I see it EVERYWHERE. Really excited for the upcoming work Dr. David teased on this!
