a good guide for naming your band a weird phrase or word combination is to slip it into an internet post in another context, and if anyone says it's like a good band name, then it's awful and you shouldn't use it

I finished STARHENGE Book 2 'A Kiss For Atticus' yesterday!! WOOHOO! The plan is to release three issues - #1, 40pgs. #2 & 3, 30pgs each. So the next collected edition, which will also include 'ORE', will be 160 pages of story. Here's a page from #2. Have a great weekend all!

knowing how the story has progressed for Satoshi Kon (RIP) and Aronofsky (pro-AI, rich) , this is a very sad thing to reflect on

Watched more newest 'Always Sunny', and I don't like that the last two appearances by The Lawyer have just been them doing the Rickety Cricket 'he keeps getting horribly injured' thing. The character was good as he'd effortlessly beat the despicable main characters, which was cathartic!!!

watching some 'Foundation' and I can't remember what happened in it previously and if I'm thinking about The Expanse by mistake, and why I should care about anything in it, so I'm just waiting patiently for any scenes of Jared Harris or Lee Pace as I like them

Catherine O'Hara is as much of a "good in absolutely everything, no matter how good the thing itself was" actor as Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Being pointlessly annoyed that in the comic 'Defoe' they still call zombies 'zombies' throughout, in amongst calling them 'stenches' and 'reeks'. Just use the latter two terms, leave 'zombies' out of it, ruins the "it's the 17th century" thing a bit. As I say, pointlessly annoyed

Just watched a terrific film from last year on a streamer. I think I’d like to have it for my library. Cos it was smashing. Looked it up. It’s not available to buy. No way of supporting its maker at all. Fucking shambles.

Tetsuo Hara drew these to commemorate his having filed his tax return using his smartphone. Notice how he drew both of these on the same day despite no longer really being able to see particularly well. Stuff like this makes me even more irate that the upcoming TV series will be in crap looking 3DCG

thinking about the Fable game (3, maybe?) where you can pretty much play on easy mode by becoming a landlord and jacking all the rents up to max. It makes your character 'evil' but that feature doesn't meaningfully affect the game in any way. Still feels bad though

that new Ghost in the Shell, very strange to see a trailer for a modern anime that doesn't just slide off of my eyes, but what I'm really wanting to see is a cool angled shot of someone changing gears in a non-3D model car. I recognise not every cartoon can cater to me but maybe this one will

Last night's unhelpful dream featured a This Mortal Coil gig, but with Fred Schneider on vocals. Then I couldn't get my t-shirt on properly or find my bag and also I was sure I'd miss the bus. Dreams! They're zany and boring

got nowhere near as much Art Stuff done as I hoped today, going to blame the irrestible lure of the 'doomscroll' and not myself. It is the modern world that is at fault. Hurm. Inked a decent picture of a pub toilet tonight though, so I'll take that as a victory I suppose.

ICE has been holding a disabled Black man for a year! Rodney Taylor is a double amputee who was days away from receiving new prosthetic legs when ICE took him. He’s been denied his prosthetics & placed in solitary. His health is declining. Public outrage might save his life. Say his name:

be interested to see if/how they try and make the Highlander 'lore' not ridiculous. I hope they go with the "they're from Zeist" version to cash in on Dune. I hope they don't have someone pointing out how weird the rules are. I hope Jared Leto doesn't somehow show up in it.

I've run out of Slaine apparently but tonight I'll start my reread of the Mills/Gallagher/Deville 'Defoe' comics. It feels like it flits between ideas too quickly from what I remember so never really settles into a 'coherent universe' but that's fine, not reading a Mills for that sort of thing

Thinking about that Aronofsky, I liked Pi from what I remember (last time I tried to watch it I accidentally drank a boiled spider, the horror of which cut my viewing short, so I can't reassess it), I liked The Wrestler at the cinema, I liked the ridiculousness of Noah

Finished 'the Omega Factor'. Enjoyably dull and televisony, but needed more shots of 70s Edinburgh. I liked when they all went clubbing, and I think it was supposed to be weird that this old guy was there but I'm not sure as everyone in the club looks 40+ anyway
