There were four kids in my house. One washed, one rinsed, one dried, one had the night off. Perfectly fine to let them dry on their own, of course. But with six people, that doesn’t fit in a rack well. And yeah. Don’t think I ever had a dishwasher until I was an adult.

I loved physics. And I did rather well in it. But I drew a picture every time. As for organic chemistry, where I did well enough I worked in the lab afterward, I remember doing the equations over and over and over until I got them right. To me, it was a puzzle I had to keep trying to solve.

I mean, depending on where a kid lives, Chagas Disease might be a legitimate risk. This is a valid fear. (Yes, I get the joke. But Chagas is horrible, so I immediately sympathized with the kid.)

My current dogs cannot tell time. It has been a very long time since that has been the case for me. And damn, it’s nice.

They changed the shape of a button in a daily word game I’ve played for about four years. And it brings up a different-looking menu. The rest looks the same. Gameplay is the same. But not sure I can keep playing. That’s how much a small change affects me. Change for the sake of change is hard.

And so it ends. No selfie with S this year, as he had to work.

And we go on. It’s not my best work. But it’s not my worst. And it’s a work in progress, so that’s ok.

I’ve never cared for stuffing. But, um, that’s why it’s called stuffing. Dressing is similar, but doesn’t go inside the bird. And even Stove Top has in the bird directions right on the box. (B likes stuffing. Boxed with some sprucing up is fine. We make it twice a year.)

I've spent a lot of holidays on my own. And I've definitely been the guy who had to work while all my fellow employees have been off with their families. Reminded of a tween girl who came to my door on Halloween. I asked her if she was a K Pop Demon Hunter and she beamed. Her costume was homemade, and she’d thought no one would know it. It was obvious to me what she was. I told her so. It was a small thing, but I’m glad I’d seen the movie that night.

Oncogenic is a fancy word for “causes cancer.” There are seven* KNOWN oncogenic viruses that affect humans. *make that eight. One has been added to the list since last I looked. And there will be more. Viral infection is not innocuous. And some cancers can be completely eliminated by vaccines.

My dad (a longtime regular donor) once told me that no one should die from lack of a completely renewable resource. I need to get back on the donation wagon. Thanks to those of you who donate. Only about 3% of us do. If we got that to even 10%, we’d save so many lives.

I do not agree with, say, the suppression of Acadian culture in Maine (where, yes, it was illegal to teach French for a decades, and students were punished for speaking it). However, to say the French language and culture are native to the area is…not ok.

Never thought of teaching an inverted roundhouse this way (the foot touch), but I like it. Though I’m a fan of using the front leg. ;)

This agrees with my “best” list, though Rogue One’s placement can be debated, and I’d add that original caveat for all of them. But if we’re talking “favorites”, it’s Jedi all the way for me. Forever and always, amen.

No one ever asks me this anymore, likely because of who I hang with. But it used to happen when I was younger. And I’ve always been baffled as to why the segment of the population that chooses *not* to drug itself is considered the odd one. The normalization of alcohol use is strange.

It was my dad’s 80th birthday this week. There is a shindig today. Complete with a photographer. I’ve found an outfit I like. And I understand the impetus to do this. But I still don’t want to go, for several reasons. Which is funny to me. I mean, I run Dragon Con photoshoots. But this is…different.
