will also add - yes, this is my personal crusade - that turning podcasts into videos implicitly asks women to once again make more effort than men, as the bar for "camera-ready" for one gender is obviously higher than for the other

Toxic relationships are toxic no matter the type of relationship. We should no more encourage sticking with abusive blood relatives than we should encourage people to remain with abusive romantic partners. I am deeply suspicious of the sort of people that would argue otherwise.

Warning: very disturbing read. It’s a story told by a woman who Trump allegedly raped when she was 13. 13!! It’s not new. She first came forward in 2016 when he began running for president. It was mostly ignored. But it seems increasingly plausible now!

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.

I learned about a series of deaths in Canada in the 90s/00s from a true crime podcast. It's one of those things that stays with you. The racism, the cruelty, and what happens when some people who don't see others as fully human get a little bit of power.

Since the supreme court decision, organisations have faced lobbying and legal threats. But trans people are protected by discrimination law too, says Jess O’Thomson of the Good Law Project

I haven't finished reading the judgement myself yet but 2 things I've noticed: 1) as always, the parts "won" by the "gender critical" claimant were about processes followed unfairly, not an endorsement of GC views 2) the judge's comments suggest the EHRC interim guidance incorrectly interprets FWS

Mini thread on the ET decision in Peggie Top line: It says exactly what we have been saying for months. The decision of the Supreme Court was not to turn the Equality Act 2010 into a nationwide bathroom ban - regardless of how anti-trans organisations have sought to misrepresent the law. 🧵👇

This article is awful, but the 78 year old trans woman broke my heart. She knew as a teen she was trans. She was subjected to such cruelty, lived though so many law changes, the GRA, the Equality Act and now the awful regression we're seeing on trans acceptance :(

At least it's honest, right? Intrusive questioning of women who don't conform to norms about how they should look, and women then being banned if they tell their inquisitor to mind his own sodding business, has always been the logical end point for the patriarchal project that is TERFdom.
