So upsetting to come to work today to find that some our outdoor furniture has been stolen. If anyone sees grey rattan sofas/chairs & cream cushions on their travels please let us know (long shot!). These were donated and used for volunteers & staff to have a much needed break. Feeling sad.

Our partnership with The Hygiene Bank is so important to our work. It enables our visitors to get deodorant, laundry products and other personal care items which are essential for all of us and provides a level of dignity and care beyond what food can do. Thank you!

Today the team at our Catford welcome centre said goodbye to their centre managers Michael and Rebecca. A sad day! We wish them all the best with their new venture in Balham. Their leadership, compassion and good humour will be missed hugely. 📷 @swanaroundphotos.bsky.social

Places where children can eat for free or nearly free during half term

Some of our staff team are attending the annual @trusselluk.bsky.social Roadshow. It's always worth remembering that attending a food bank is far more than receiving a food parcel. Feeling welcomed in a non-judgemental environment makes all the difference to a visitor's sense of worth.

Throughout April we fed 1,454 people, nearly half of whom were children under the age of 16. We continue to rely on your support and are so grateful to you. We were donated enough Easter Eggs to ensure that every child received a treat which is amazing. #ThisMonthWeNeed

PRO TIP Don't buy food for the food bank. You give EXTRA food, you give EXCESS food. Donate the money instead to the food bank. Unless they tell you otherwise, they can do more with that money than you can at Cosco. Money is best, if you can.

Here is our beautiful team of volunteers at Catford Salvation Army just before the doors open to welcome our visitors. They will be given tea, coffee and treats before chatting to our signposters and given a food parcel. They also have access to all kinds of face to face advice. #FoodbankHeroes

We have a new Energy Cafe - Running every 2 weeks from 4 Feb, 10am-1pm at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Thamesmead. We will be working in partnership with Greenwich Foodbank, which will run alongside the cafe, allowing people to receive more support in one go.
