I am amazed how many people congratulate Zelensky for not trusting Putin. Guys, he only talks to Trump to show to all the rest of us how absurd all this is. The alleged attack on Putin’s residence shows how fragile U.S. security guarantees could be. Russia can claim it, Ukraine deny it, and Trump says he was angry without evidence. I would not trust Russia not to stage a false flag, nor trust Trump not to take it at face value and void the guarantees.

This is how supposedly ironclad "security guarantees for Ukraine" would fall apart: one russian false-flag operation — or just a lie (why even bother staging anything in this beautiful post-truth world?) — and they're gone.

So if Trump spoke with Putin yesterday before the meeting with Zelensky, yesterday after the meeting with Zelensky, and this morning when Putin told him the Ukrainians allegedly targeted his residence, they surely talk to each other much more often than most normal families

The negotiations charade is making people lose track of the real story of the Ru-Ukraine war. Ru refuses a ceasefire. Pu insists he wants to achieve ALL his goals. Ru wants "peace through Ukrainian surrender". Any discussion of Donbas, Zaporizhzhia power plant, security guarantees is a distraction.

All Trump achieved with his peace talks on Ukraine was to shift the global discourse from "just peace" to "peace at any cost". Ukraine is forced to accept Trump's terms just to keep allies on board as Putin refuses. It is too much and each of us has a moral obligation to support Ukraine u24.gov.ua

This is indeed why Ru wants Ukraine and why "territorial concessions" are not leading to peace: Ru plans to use Ukraine as a springboard for a broader war against Europe.

A reminder: Russia doesn’t want/need Donbas; it isn’t historically/ethnically special. Ru wants all of Ukraine. Receiving the heavily fortified Donbas towns it couldn’t conquer for 11+ yrs on a silver platter from Trump would allow Ru an easier 2nd march on Kyiv. That’s what Pu is focusing on now.

Trump said Ukraine “has nothing unless I approve it”, it is pure arrogance. Ukraine is not a bargaining chip and Zelensky is not a subordinate waiting for permission. People need to understand this invasion is not about Trump’s ego or dealmaking fantasies with Putin. Fuck Trump.
