The violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drones is yet another unacceptable breach of an EU Member State's sovereignty. This continued reckless escalation threatens regional security. We stand in solidarity with Romania. I am in close contact with the Romanian government.

The war in Gaza grows more dangerous by the hour. EU priorities remain humanitarian support, including access for NGOs, with an immediate ceasefire and release of remaining hostages. If a military solution was possible, the war would already be over.

Transatlantic unity, support to Ukraine and pressure on Russia is how we will end this war and prevent future Russian aggression in Europe.

Russian strikes on Ukraine's cities are depraved, meant to kill civilians. Flags are flying at half-mast to mourn the victims. More weapons for Ukraine and tougher sanctions on Russia are the fastest way to end the war. Getting more air defenses to Ukraine fast is our priority.
