We just adopted our 19th sanctions package. It targets Russian banks, crypto exchanges, entities in India and China, among others. The EU is curbing Russian diplomats’ movements to counter the attempts of destabilisation. It is increasingly harder for Putin to fund this war.

The window for EU enlargement is now wide open. Today in London, we met our Western Balkan partners to deepen our cooperation on security, energy, economy. Enlarging the EU is a geostrategic investment in the security of whole Europe. Together we can get it over the line.

Close friends stick together. And face challenges side by side. I’m meeting in London Defence Secretary Healey and Foreign Secretary Cooper for the first EU-UK Foreign and Security Policy Dialogue. We are deepening our cooperation to support Ukraine and address geopolitical threats together.

Russia is masking its failed summer offensive with terror attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure. We keep supporting Ukraine as long as needed: finalizing the next sanctions package, ensuring financing, providing weapons. Russia will not stop until forced to.

The deliberate attack in Manchester against innocent worshippers at a synagogue on Yom Kippur is utterly appalling. Hate, antisemitism and violence have no place in our society. My thoughts are with the families and friends of victims and the Jewish community today.

The people of Moldova have spoken. And the EU has heard them loud and clear. In Copenhagen, I congratulated President Maia Sandu on her victory and the resilience of her country. Moldova can count on our support every step towards the EU.

President Trump’s Gaza plan is an opportunity for lasting peace. It offers the best immediate chance to end the war. The EU is ready to help it succeed. Israel has signed on to the plan. Hamas must now accept it without delay, starting with the immediate release of hostages.

Moldova’s vote is a clear yes to a European future. Despite Russia’s massive efforts to spread disinformation and buy votes, no force can stop a people committed to freedom. We stand with Moldova on their path to the EU.
