This never gets old. Every morning is a fresh plate of wonderful smells and textures. I like to just gently brush and trim away the sawdust and then dry them whole. They take up a lot of room that way but look magical in the jars.

I've changed genre from transgressive fiction to magical realism with a sprinkle of horror. It's such a boost of creativity to not worry about whether I'm too focused on atmosphere; the place is now what defines and creates my protagonist, not the other way around. #Hookland

In times of strife, it's good to remember that you're not alone. There are many other lost souls, wayward spirits, wandering shadows, and moss draped horrors out here shambling along as best we can. Take comfort in that.

I'm dealing with a number of physical and emotional issues that may prevent me from going to No Kings. The anxiety of not being able to go of course makes it worse. I have a very bad feeling that it's now, or never again. My guy has promised to go without me if necessary. That's its own anxiety.

I'm working on a crucial character for my #Hookland story, and the only other character like it I can think of is Wilson from the movie "Castaway." I'm having trouble finding other examples of objects that remain objects but have that level of emotional significance without being magical (crucial).

Lungwort I gleaned last year from a jobsite where it was being trampled. It seems to like its new home. Every day I go in the yard and feel overwhelmed and blessed in equal measures. I expect a hot dry summer and I'm waiting for Chipdrop to bring mulch so I can hopefully help the plants in my care.

I'm supposed to be on HRT for menopause, but due to a gap in my insurance coverage, I've had to go without the last six months. It has fucked me up physically and mentally, and I'm just a cis white woman. I cannot even imagine the trauma of my trans brethren.
