Slowly chipped away at this for a while with the kids when it released on GameCube Online. Still love it, but this playthrough made me more aware of some of its warts. And I’m not even talking about the Triforce hunt section—I actually really enjoyed that on replay.

In Donkey Kong Bananza, Pauline's idle animations evolve over the course of the game as she learns to be more comfortable around DK. In the beginning, she looks around worriedly. After Sublayer 300, she starts ruffling his hair, and after Sublayer 1400, starts tickling him.

My thoughts on FFXII are myriad. When it’s good, it’s REALLY good. When it’s bad, it’s REALLY bad. Toward the bottom of my FF ranking but even a lower FF game is still among the best games ever made, so that’s not a huge knock.
