A Canadian making $70k a year will save $11 a month. This will reduce contributions to the plan by $3 billion. A year. I can't even fathom the thinking that went into this. Carney keeps doing these tax breaks that don't do shit for individuals but cost the government billions. It's pathological.

Remember that the next Ontario election likely will not be until 2030. The Ford government is applying a "scorched earth" policy to any and all public assets and services for their ultimate goal of privatization. They do not care about being popular because they maintain power.

Never too late to give to your local food bank. Or to drop off new toys to your nearest fire station in Toronto. (babies and older kids generally get the fewest donations) Gift cards are good as well.
