I think we need to point out that Nakamura has had contract expirations (I'd reckon at least 2, considering all the time he's been with the company) and chose to stay with WWE each time. 🤼

Bringing in Okada to work Tanahashi's last match is, in your boy's purview, cool, but also absolutely a plan B pick. There's a lot to this, but thinking that AEW's relationship with NJPW wasn't a factor in this decision is naive.
