‘No clear fix in sight: ’ Oneida Nation of the Thames still boiling water on Truth and Reconciliation Day
Chris Patriquin knows the importance of clean drinking water. The member of Oneida Nation of the Thames makes filtered water for a living and delivers it daily to First Nations.

As bird flu returns? Really? It never went away. It's just been in waves through livestock.

I found out an organization that promotes inclusion for people with disabilities in their community really pushes individuals to work. To the point it's uncomfortable. Like they hold ableist, capitalist views. I just don't know how else to interpret it.

"This is not the first time governments have proposed the end of door-to-door delivery. In 2013, former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper tried to introduce community mailboxes across the country and end door-to-door delivery but was met with much opposition from the public."

Reminder: when Canada Post was on strike, it was not possible for me to send out items for my biz. It was also not possible for me to buy from many Canadian businesses because couriers don’t want to serve the North. This is a step towards privatizing something that should be a service to Canadians.

Some days I just can't, with ppl. Someone commented bragging that the bought a 2nd hand table with 6 chairs & took it home in 2 trips... with a fucking SUV! I really don't get the point of SUVs. Less payload than a car, gas mileage/ turning radius/size of a truck. Congrats.

I called on the 🇨🇦 govt to guarantee, no-cost access to COVID-19 vaccines, including for every child under 12. Under the Canada Health Act, every Canadian deserves equal access to care no matter where they live, or how badly their provincial gov’t ignores science, health guidelines & their citizens.

Autism isn't an epidemic. There's a current active epidemic of Covid-19. Can we address the actual disease that's spreading? And killing & disabling people at a massive rate?

Why won't people have more babies?!? In AB, there's A LOT of places it's really not safe to live if your pregnancy turns into a "complicated" one. Oh, and more places that don't offer epidurals.

May I remind everyone that there is currently NO cure for rabies. May I also remind everyone there is absolutely NO scientific proof connecting ANY vaccine that we produce today with autism. This is true regarding vaccination in both humans AND in dogs. Vaccinate your pets please.

AB Govt Strategy: - tell everyone vaccines don't work - waste millions in unused vaccines - blame ABs for not using the vaccines - use this as reason to further restrict vaccine access - under order vaccines, put up huge barriers, rinse and repeat

...and yes, I very much am concerned about the intubated patient I was visiting. I just can't believe how badly the system failed them- both by unnecessary exposure to pathogens & failing to protect them from further harm while receiving care.

Really frustrating to see droplet only precautions in a hospital's ICU room. Not even all the rooms had that! I'm not quite sure what a baggy blue with eye protection is going to do to protect the patient or visitor/ staff when patient has UNKNOWN viral infection.

It's nice that something has been approved but new meds are desperately needed. Cyclobenzaprine has been used for fibro related pain over a decade. There are now 4 drugs officially for fibro pain- 2 are SNRIs (that don't really do better for symptoms than other SNRIs & SSRIs). Lyrica. This.

A Nazi owns Twitter, right wing billionaires own the Wall Street Journal and the LA Times, and CBS is run by a right wing nepo baby who just fired one of the network’s biggest stars for criticizing Donald Trump. Here’s why America has a left-wing media bias problem.

As a child, this was an annual activity for me. In the wild until I was about 15, then picked from the orchard my parents planted (it takes years to establish). I like them far more than blueberries.

Why is the "increase in cost" always pushed? Because the corporate interests don't want to loose any potential profits. They increase the prices anyway (what are ppl going to do? Boycott food?)... bare minimum, they can pay liveable wage for workers.

I honestly don't care what people who refuse to ban private jets or cut military and police spending think about air conditioning. Air conditioning saves lives. Private jets and military weapons and cop budgets take lives. Seems pretty obvious to me what we should cut to fight climate change.

Six Republican members of the U.S. Congress have sent a letter to Canada's ambassador calling for action on the wildfires sending smoke billowing across the international border into their states.

Wasn't a general consensus amongst science communicators that they needed to change the way science is presented to ppl as it became clear with Cvd that the communication is broken. What I'm seeing in response from a lot of them to Suzuki's clear message is that nothing was learned for most 😮💨
