New novel idea: BRONTE vs. SHELLEY The Bronte sisters discover that Mary Shelley has created a book that combines key elements of all of their novels, and Bramwell did the cover. Shelley becomes outraged that everyone keeps calling it "Mary Shelley" instead of "Mary Shelley's Book."

KING ARTHUR (2004) with Keira Knightley and Clive Owen is actually fairly fun, if generally forgettable, but there's one awesome line delivered by Stellan Skarsgård. "Finally, a man worth killing." Even if they do make him look like a 70s hair metal singer.

SKELETON CREW is a great addition to the Star Wars universe. An array of great characters and a fun story that takes me back to childhood.

The main issue that fledgling authors have in trying to write Grimdark is that they forget the humour. A key element of Grimdark fantasy is a dark, ironic, politically aware gallows humour. The resignation to corruption, the nihilism and the violence need a counterweight, and that's making us laugh.

I didn't really intend to make the Redwinter books as queer as they ended up, the characters just came out as they did and all the straights kept getting killed. Kinda proud how it ended up 🏳️‍🌈 #bifantasy #lgbt #queerbooks #bivisibility #grimdark #fantasy #epicfantasy

Just finished AGENT SEVENTEEN by @johnbrownlow.bsky.social and I absolutely loved it. Exciting, suspenseful, great characters - this was a thrill ride from start to finish

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is an utterly unbelievable, absurdly unrealistic movie. There's a high-speed chase right through the CENTRAL LONDON congestion zone. Good luck getting above 20 mph, robots.

I really hope, and I think this may be the case, that World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery is effectively a testing ground for a new, start-from-scratch MMORPG that retains the classes from WoW.

Today's DnD hot take: If your heroes intend to be heroes, they should have a working knowledge of the world's monsters and their capabilities. It's not metagaming to know that trolls don't regenerate fire, that's like not knowing stags will battle with their antlers.
