My daughters' schools are closed today, yet they are still expected to go to their after school activities and sports practices. I'm kind of dumbfounded by that. I guess Good Friday isn't what it used to be.

Sometimes I need a palate cleanser because I read so much SF & Fantasy. If anyone is looking for a good (and fairly quick) nonfiction read, I highly recommend UNDERGROUND by Will Hunt. Chronicles the author's exploration into various subterranean places across the globe. I really enjoyed it!

Angus Watson's books are so damn fun to read. And by that I don't mean they are lighthearted or funny, they're quite bloody and violent actually. But there's something about them that just draws me in and keeps me reading. I think it's his characters. Really wish he would write more books.

Is it just me or does everywhere you go now require you to leave a tip? I mean, there's not a place I frequent that doesn't spin around an iPad and ask you to leave 30% at the lowest level. Sad thing is I feel shamed to leave one and so I usually do even if the service doesn't really deserve one.

Reading the third book in Shauna Lawless' Gael Song series, THE LAND OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD right now and wow, sooooo great. If you are looking for a Celtic Fantasy series to sink your teeth into, this is one that will more than satisfy that itch. Really engrossing and the writing is superb!
