Most excellent #book haul this week. First I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the extraordinary CAST AWAY by Francesca de Tores. An account of the historical marooning of Alexander Selkirk, the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe, you would not believe how much wanking is in this book.

my current book is @davewragg.com's Company of the Wolf which I'm enjoying a lot. Dave's writing is low fantasy and very wry - he has a good eye for absurdity and calls it out wherever opportunity affords.

Melissa is absolutely right. We might be traditionally published, and we might occasionally break out with a bestseller, but midlist authors are often neglected by publishers while the big titles suck up all the oxygen. There are some brave and exciting books out there that deserve a lot more hype!
