Melissa is absolutely right. We might be traditionally published, and we might occasionally break out with a bestseller, but midlist authors are often neglected by publishers while the big titles suck up all the oxygen. There are some brave and exciting books out there that deserve a lot more hype!

My copy of The Iron Road by @davewragg.com arrived today from @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social 🤩 I’m nearly 80% finished on the arc but I can finish it off in style 👌🏽 I’ve really enjoyed it! I don’t want it to end, particularly as I am fearing greatly for the longevity of my fave characters atm!

Next up for #drawtober is spellbound princess! This has got several loving references to one of my all time favourite illustrators, Harry Clarke, and also Sergio Toppi.
