I was recently inspired by @rameyer.bsky.social who made her own fantastic cover pitch - to try my luck in submitting a cover sketch to the New Yorker. Alas it was not accepted, but I thought I would share it here. More details about the concept below-

A sequence from my recent book Shifter. In the book I chose a different color schemes for each scene, made to fit the atmosphere and general mood, I decided to go against the grain for dystopian sci fi, and not pick super gloomy or dark color scheme.

Does anyone else remember the webcomic 'The Abaddon' by Koren Shadmi? I think the site is gone... Still got my physical copy though - such a weird, disturbing comic, I still love it. Some great bizarre face designs too; though, as is often the case, the men are more interesting than the women.

I love The Twilight Zone, so I was thrilled to learn about a graphic novel biography of Rod Serling. I've read a couple of Koren Shadmi's bios, but this was the first and had me hooked. Really well-researched and doesn't try to make Serling seem like a perfect human.
