Due to algorithm shenanigans this morning my Facebook feed is full of Scotland football supporters and my BlueSky feed is NYC celebrations. And it’s remarkably lovely.

Last image from tonight (short film in the morning): this brother out here with his Singer sewing machine, gifting people a custom embroidery on their jerseys and hats with the name and the date, was more artistic than anything at Burning Man and ad gorgeous as a Caravaggio. Magic! Goodnight.

Visited fab Dundee this morning to see the 100 years of RRS Discovery exhibition because a) it is interesting & b) 3 of my textile works are in it. As a lovely bonus they have used some of my sewn specimen jars in the galleries to replace those put in the exhibition!

Spent a restful day yesterday dodging the showers around #Anstruther #Fife. Actual storm clouds gathering over Cellardyke harbour, ship shaped shenanigans at the #ScottishFisheriesMuseum and a beautiful rainbow views from my cozy holiday let.

Well, this is turning out to be every bit as difficult as I anticipated 🙁. Stage 1 simple 16th C marine #astrolabe freehand machine #embroidery on sheer #organza using water soluble fabric as stabiliser. The organza is quite opaque at some angles making following the lines really challenging.
