Took the fam to an Isotopes game. Happened to be pride night. Honestly didn't really care; just wanted to see a ball game. It was great. The gay men's choir did a great national anthem. Rainbow Isotopes gear everywhere, whole stadium singing Pink Pony Club between innings. What more could you want?

I am fascinated by the coverage from all major news outlets for literally months now about how an Iran peace deal is close at hand. Not even an acknowledgement that we have been through multiple cycles of this and nothing is happening.

My brain is blasting too many thoughts at once in all different directions while I'm trying to focus. Giving in to the chaos. Hallelujah for [effectively] 3 monitors and the ability to open loads of tabs with loads of documents all at once, lol.

Feels like a rough sign for the presumption of regularity when defendants are starting to be able to point to multiple other current cases involving the same administration to prove vindictiveness.

Judge ruled no probable cause for the arrest more than 18 months ago. A year+ long trip to the court of appeals later, and then bonus months waiting for the state to decide if it wanted to go to trial with the pre-arrest evidence, and I finally got to make the call. 1/2

Presidential assassination attempts that didn’t get close happened in the past too, but you heard about them less because previous presidents all thought strength was shrugging “you can’t phase me, nothing can,” while this president thinks strength is whining “I’m such a victim, soothe my feelings.”

If you want to work on sprints in the park in all black, including a hoodie with the hood up when it's about 4,000 degrees in the blazing sun... it's a free country I guess. But you should know that you look like you're training to run from the cops 😆

One reason I hate death penalty cases is that capital punishment is incredibly stupid and irrational. It's cruel, expensive, and serves no deterrent effect. It's rarely imposed, except against a tiny minority of unlucky defendants—and in those cases, racism almost always plays a role. Just end it.

Starfleet Academy was unsalvageable. If you like spectacle and JJ Abrams, you may enjoy it. If you like plot or the ability to think beyond "oh, pretty boom," then the show just wasn't it That said, the one thing I will give SFA is the first season of *every* Trek show has been utterly unwatchable🤣

I've used goodreads for a while as a PDF reader on my tablet. It's terrible though. Does anyone have something similar that works well on the tablet, synchs with my desktop, let's me highlight/take notes on documents, and isn't absolute trash?

I loved the first seasons of Good Omens. Was looking forward to the final season 85 years and several sexual assault allegations ago. I see that the finale is finally out, and I hate that I'm so unexcited about it. I'm guessing Amazon feels similarly considering how little hype I've seen about it.

For not the first, and surely not the last time: It would be amazing to have an opposition party to vote for. Anyone who continues to think Democrats are an opposition party is delusional.

Why do we even have Democrats? These weak fucking politicians brag about the harsh sentences they authorize for the poor people I represent every damn day in a corrupt, racist, merciless system, but the first time a wealthy white fucker faces consequences over crimes they all become abolitionists.

People seem legitimately surprised that Trump is using his tweets to pump stock he owns and buying or selling based off of confidential information he receives as POTUS. Grifting is his entire personality. Why is anyone shocked?

You can take all the corruption from every single US administration in history, add it all together, and it will not equal the amount of corruption committed by the Trump Regime in less than two years.

The markets are fundamentally irrational, and I don't think anyone is capable of predicting exactly when reality will catch up to the dow. But I also think you'd be a fool to not think that day is coming, and probably soon.

Seattle. I've never been, can't explain why, but I just feel like it would be my city if I ever got the chance to move there 😂. Seems like a cool place, and after a life of living in the desert, it would be so cool to experience a place with regular rain🤷♂️.

Always fun to roll into a motion hearing being able to whip out "actually, there's this new case from the COA just the day before yesterday that completely supports my position," then watch the prosecutor scramble to try to pull up their case on their phone before I finish my argument 🤣

In Louisiana and likely Alabama, actual, cast votes are going to be tossed out as officials speed ahead with new (or previously enjoined) maps. This is such an extreme use case for the Purcell principle that the court ignoring it here signifies that it was always a made-up toy, not law.
