A Bob Sykora poem opens the door for longing and then leans into love, but my every impulse when I arrive at longing is not to lean into possibility of love but to pull hard on the e-brake and fishtail into how improbable love is.

I tried to write a @bobsykora.bsky.social poem. Is this a Bob Sykora poem? Not really, but I was reading Utopians in Love by Bob Sykora and I said, "I want to write a Bob Sykora poem" and this was the result.
