COVID is a systemic disease that can harm the brain, heart, immune system and more. Every reinfection increases the risk of Long COVID, chronic illness, disability and even death. If people understood the real danger, they’d take prevention seriously instead of accepting repeated infections.

The thing is that this mostly became an issue in the US because companies pushing it knew the dangers and didn't care; there was money to be made. All of these companies know what they are doing and don't give a shit because irrevocable impacts on society are just the cost of doing business.

Edgewater NIMBYs tried exactly this plan to stop the upzoning along Broadway in Edgewater & Uptown Chicago, and I'm incredibly grateful that we had enough organized & independent pushback on their bullshit that the upzoning did successfully pass.
