Yes, we have duties and obligations to each other if, collectively, we want as many of us as possible to make it out of the current hellscape. Succumbing, loudly and publicly, to panic when people look to someone for information has real, damaging effects on morale.

If you have a public platform right now, especially if it's your primary job/role, and you're spreading "we're doomed because of latest terrible thing" without any info to how to fight back (and context on how people have fought such odds before) that's dereliction of duty in wartime. Stop.
