The evolution of the BBC article on Graham Linehan's conviction and how it describes the trans victim of this crime is beyond atrocious. They actively went out of their way to dehumanize the victim here. They removed all pronouns for her and gendered honorifics such as "Ms."

A very, very important peer-reviewed empirical study published in the academic journal Pediatrics shows that hormone treatment of young trans people decreases suicidality very significantly. Doubtless it will be ignored by Simonoff et al, who are not even measuring this in the “Pathways” study.

The article, like so many Atlantic pieces, is long. I don't have the time to read it in detail, but nothing is mentioned afaict of the HHS report on GAC for trans youth. Which is... odd, since it follows the same pattern outlined in the rest of the piece.

I'm not going to weigh in on the recent things happening surrounding @seattlevoicelab.com but I'm seeing posts emphasizing that the individual in question is cis. Many of their instructors are cis. And they're top quality. Please don't make being cis a value judgement. It shouldn't be.

I'm of the impression that GAC was and continues to be both the test case as well as the evidence for the effectiveness of this approach. Someone else noted that "What is a woman?" is effectively a thought stopping phrase. It isn't meant to be answered it's meant to be a means to silence people.

The 22nd was Tokyo's Trans March. I've never been involved, but the marchers generally go around a fair amount of Shinjuku. If anyone was there, I'll boost photos and the like.
