This afternoon we paired up with Primary 3 to read some books as part of book week.

Today we listened to and read the story Brown Bear in French and completed a task reading French animal and colours words.

Antonine’s Superhero Powers filled the hall during today’s superhero academy. We celebrated kindness heroes, practised our focus learning power and even ignited our Christmas heroes with practising some festive songs. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Today’s assembly promoted firework safety and involved challenging the House Captains knowledge of staying safe. Rights Ambassadors shared information about anti-bullying week. We can’t wait to award kindness heroes next week. #antohwb #antopupilvoice

This morning we arrived at school to find our stick insects had been kidnapped! We had to follow the clues to get them back 🕵️‍♂️🫆 this was the start of our learning around a new model text- kidnapped!

This morning we completed a booklet crypto hack game to practice our tables.

This morning we came in to a surprise…. The porridge had came to life! We are excited to star our new TFW story “The MagicPorridge Pot” ✨

We were joined by Mrs Reid for the final time during maths today where she helped us with a very competitive game of First to 40! We showed an excellent knowledge of our times table facts! Well done 👏🏻

We have kicked off Term 2 by learning how to measure and draw angles with protractors! Great work from our P6 learners! 📐✨

Last week’s assembly celebrated Black History Month. We had a visit from Intercultural Youth Scotland and learned all about discrimination and what we can do to make a difference.

Group 1 had a great session today! We checked our bikes and helmets, practised controlled cycling, braking smoothly and pedalling with confidence 🚴‍♀️🚴

Primary 6 have been rainforest experts this week! They used everything they’ve learned to design and build their own rainforest shoeboxes 🌍🦜🐅

We spent our afternoon finding out about Black History month- we discussed what it means to be a powerful person before researching the life of Martin Luther King jr. We then looked at images from the Notting Hill Carnival and designed our own fabulous costumes! 🎭

Thank you again to the Denny High STEM ambassadors for teaching us all about the parts of a plant and what plants need to grow 🌱

We had the challenge of finding Bonnybridge on a map. We then spoke about what what the land is used for like farms, parks and houses.

What a quick first term! We hope all of our children and families have a great October break.
