A wee snapshot of p1 play and learning in action this morning. We were learning about rhyme at our VIP table, we had a group building a house and a helper washing dishes from breakfast. 💕

P1 working hard on our maths VIP tasks this morning! We were revising our addition skills. 🌟

P1 took part in pancake making today. We measured the ingredients and then took turns to add them and mix them together. We then helped to cook them on the hot plate. 👨‍🍳

Our P1 learners became mini chefs today as part of Health Week! 🥞🍓🍌 We carefully measured ingredients, mixed our pancake batter and poured it ready for cooking. The children then chose from a variety of healthy fruit toppings to create their own delicious pancakes.

Our P1 learners had a fantastic time taking part in rugby this morning! 🏉 We practised listening carefully, following instructions and developing our teamwork skills through lots of fun games and activities. ⭐️

Paid for by the PTA as a treat enjoyed by all. The Secret Garden is a moving novel about friendship, growth, and the healing power of natur.

This week in our play, we have enjoyed the Beebots to give directions, using playdoh to make creatures, using tweezers to remove the asteroids in the tuff tray (fine motor skills practise) and building towers with the blocks. 👍

This group were independently writing sentences today using their always checklist to self assess. 👍

P1 Toastie Thursday this afternoon. Thank you for having us 🙂☕️

Using shaving foam and food colouring, the children swirled bright colours and patterns to create fiery sun art while exploring texture, colour mixing and creativity through sensory play. 🫧🎨

A fantastic day at Briarlands Farm today! 🚜☀️ The children had so much fun feeding the animals, trying archery, exploring the mazes and enjoying the climbing frames (to name a few). Lots of smiles, laughter and new experiences were shared throughout the day! 🐐🏹🌽🛝

One of our learners chose to paint the planets during play today, linking to our current space topic! 🌍🪐🎨 Through creative play, she explored colour, shape and her knowledge of the solar system while showing great focus and imagination. ✨

We had a lovely time outside with Primary 1 @mrsdowds.bsky.social @missmckechnie.bsky.social for our Community Gardening Day. Our garden looks so much better now, we can't wait to see what happens next 🌷🌱🌿🌲.

P1 have been learning about the moon this week. We used Oreos to help us understand the phases of the moon and what it looks like. 🌓🌕🌒

This morning, we were learning to share equally using concrete materials. 👍

This was really interesting to observe. These learners were working together to make a cafe. They were using pictures on our computer and then using kapla and miniature furniture to build their own. Amazing team work and conversations between them. 💕☕️

We took our learning outside this morning. We used chalk to practise writing some sounds and words we know. ☀️

We had some visitors in P1🐐🐑💛 Our P1s loved meeting and petting a baby goat and lamb - lots of smiles and gentle hands all round!

This is our new recognition wall and class charter in p1. Ours learners wanted a space themed version for the last term. We’ve had some brilliant astronaut ambassadors who have demonstrated being ready, respectful and safe this week. Well done p1 for a great first week back. 💕

This morning, p1 were learning about capital letters. They had to go on a capital letter hunt using our new space books.

P1 were so excited to get back into school this week for new learning and playing with their friends. They have been super stars getting back into our routines. 💕
