A wee snapshot of p1 play and learning in action this morning. We were learning about rhyme at our VIP table, we had a group building a house and a helper washing dishes from breakfast. 💕

P1 took part in pancake making today. We measured the ingredients and then took turns to add them and mix them together. We then helped to cook them on the hot plate. 👨‍🍳

Our P1 learners had a fantastic time taking part in rugby this morning! 🏉 We practised listening carefully, following instructions and developing our teamwork skills through lots of fun games and activities. ⭐️

Our P1 learners became mini chefs today as part of Health Week! 🥞🍓🍌 We carefully measured ingredients, mixed our pancake batter and poured it ready for cooking. The children then chose from a variety of healthy fruit toppings to create their own delicious pancakes.

These learners wanted a picture of a structure they made together using magnetic tiles. Great team work! 🙂👍

Lots of excitement this morning when we entered our classroom to see the planets above our heads. 🚀☄️🪐🛰️

We had a lovely time outside with Primary 1 @mrsdowds.bsky.social @missmckechnie.bsky.social for our Community Gardening Day. Our garden looks so much better now, we can't wait to see what happens next 🌷🌱🌿🌲.

One of our learners chose to paint the planets during play today, linking to our current space topic! 🌍🪐🎨 Through creative play, she explored colour, shape and her knowledge of the solar system while showing great focus and imagination. ✨

A fantastic day at Briarlands Farm today! 🚜☀️ The children had so much fun feeding the animals, trying archery, exploring the mazes and enjoying the climbing frames (to name a few). Lots of smiles, laughter and new experiences were shared throughout the day! 🐐🏹🌽🛝

Using shaving foam and food colouring, the children swirled bright colours and patterns to create fiery sun art while exploring texture, colour mixing and creativity through sensory play. 🫧🎨

As part of our learning about Earth Day, p1 and p7 worked together to do a litter pick in our school field. 🚮🗑️🌍

This was really interesting to observe. These learners were working together to make a cafe. They were using pictures on our computer and then using kapla and miniature furniture to build their own. Amazing team work and conversations between them. 💕☕️

This is our new recognition wall and class charter in p1. Ours learners wanted a space themed version for the last term. We’ve had some brilliant astronaut ambassadors who have demonstrated being ready, respectful and safe this week. Well done p1 for a great first week back. 💕

We enjoyed the sun for a little treat this afternoon. Some of us wanted to design our own Mehndi patterns to celebrate Eid. 🕌

This morning, P1 were changing parts of the We’re going on a bear hunt story. Some great ideas - We’re going on a dinosaur hunt/ we’re going on a fairy hunt. Next week we will retell our own versions of the story. Watch this space. ✏️📚

Outdoors this afternoon, pupils were having a singing show with an audience. 🎶🎤

One of our p1 pupils wanted to show everyone her mehndi patterns. 💕

🌷 A lovely visit from Reverend Gallagher last week. We enjoyed learning about spring and what makes this time of year so special 🌼 The morning was filled with Easter crafts and lots of smiles🐣

5 kings and their castle 🏰

This afternoon, P1 enjoyed a castle banquet as kings and queens to celebrate learning about castles. 🏰 We enjoyed some bread, grapes, cheese and jelly and we designed our own crowns and place mats and listened to medieval music. 👑
