We learnt how to order our daily routines today and then in the afternoon we created a Spring or Easter wreath to take home.

What a lovely wee Friday. We had a Highland Cow and her calf visit the school today. They were lovely. We also enjoyed building some garages and zoos in our play 31 time.

We had a movie afternoon to say goodbye to our student teacher Miss Jackson. The children have loved having her in class supporting them all with their learning. We will miss her lots. Good luck Miss Jackson on your next steps at Uni. Come back and visit us soon. ❤️

Wow, wow, wow! Leading the Learning p1/2 Art and Design skills were fantastic today. The children learnt about the artist Mondrian. Next, they used rulers to make black lines and could only use the 3 primary colours to create a MONDRIAN inspired heart. Have a look at some of these completed pieces.

What a brilliant sunny afternoon we had on our community litter pick with St Joseph's and Bonnybridge p.s. We worked together really well with the p6s to clean up the community park. Thanks to the parent helpers today, without your support we cannot go community outings. It means a lot!

Today, some of us tried Colourful Semantics for the first time. We made funny sentences and discussed who, doing, and where parts of a sentence. Awlfterwards, we practised writing our sentence using finger spaces.

Today Miss Douglas worked with us to match analogue o'clock times to the digital time. Super work!

We've been busy today. We have been sorting fiction and non-fiction texts, and the children could tell me 3 facts from a non-fiction book. Wow! We also spent the afternoon making a little special something!

We played with the numicon and discussed with friends different ways we can make 10!

We had the best laughs this morning making our "Guess the Mummy' quiz for our families to play at home time. Not seen it yet? Don't worry...it's there till Friday when answers will be revealed.

More tatties!

We absolutely loved sharing our tattie characters with our friends. We could even talk about how we created them and what materials we used.

Before home time, we wandered around the class in pairs and discussed which blurred our Book Characters were hidden. We did so well working together and talking about who some of them could be!

We had a play today at Pirate's Treasure in our Numeracy Rainbow Play area. We had to use addition skills to see who could count the treasure to win the coin. Well done p1.

We had a teacher swap this afternoon as part of Book Day celebrations. Mrs Todd from p7 read us Traction Man. Afterwards, we made a zipline and some of our own traction men. We had a great time.

We enjoyed a game of pass the plate to help us read our common words!

It's almost Book Day! In p1, we have been working hard together to create a special Book Day Door! We have been making some funny PANTS today. Tomorrow, we will learn to sketch some Aliens. Can you guess our door theme? Literacy is important to us in p1 - we enjoy making it 😁 fun 😁

Today, we learned more about mosques,kindness and prayer in Ramadan. We then created a prayer mat using neon pastels and sequins. Ask us some facts about Ramadan at home.

In RME, we have started to learn about the Islamic tradition of Ramadan. We created some of our own present moon and star prints. We will be learning all about how Muslims prepare for Ramadan with their communities and families and how they celebrate Eid. Cultural learning is important to us in p1!

Great engagement in our play today-we counted coins, stamped CVC words in playdough, created fantastic buildings using construction materials, made lovely artworks, practised ‘th’ words, dug for dinosaur bones in the sand and played in the house corner. Such a busy day!🤩

Yesterday we listened to the story “My Big Shouting Day” and thought about ways to calm down when we feel angry. We got out for some fresh air, tried some grounding techniques and then drew some things that make us happy!🤩

Today we learnt all about the th diagraph. We could say lots of words which contained th too. Also, here are some of the pyramids completing fact families in Numeracy.

We learnt about personal space and boundaries today. We discussed how we can avoid being space invaders and even practised declining or accepting others into our space bubble. It’s ok to say “no, I need more space”!

Today, in HWB, we learnt how to stay safe online with Smartie the Penguin. We discussed who we should go to for help with ict equiptment, or what to do if pop-ups appear. #antohandwb @antorightsps.bsky.social

Another learner inspired by China and Chinese New Year in her play. "I've made the Great Wall of China". She was also caught hoovering the home corner in the area today to prepare for the new year hee hee.

We learnt about Chinese New Year today and which Lunar Animal year we were born on. We made some lovely Chinese lanterns to complete our afternoon. The moons also enjoyed reading their new book with me today.

Today in Numeracy, we tried the part whole model to help us add 2 digits and get the total. Next steps, addition on a numberline.

We enjoyed trying addition for the first time today. We liked the funky fingers and abacus 🧮 too. Well done p1!

Today P2s worked with me on reciprocal reading skills. We explored the text Biscuit Bear. They used their Visualisation skills to imagine and create their own bear! We had lots of different types! Well done p2! Another lovely book explored in Literacy.
