We have started our “Scotland” topic ahead of Burns Night this Sunday. During play we explored Tartan and made our own!

This morning we learnt what an acrostic poem is. We explored synonyms and adjectives to describe snow and created our own poems! Super work ❄️

As part of ‘Future Me’ we looked at how we can get jobs in the future. We learnt new, big words like “application” and “qualifications” while looking at career paths. We reflected on our own interests and qualities to complete a CV for our future jobs 👍 @antorightsps.bsky.social

Today we broke down our spelling words into sounds in Elkonin Boxes!

I am so proud of the pupils in P2! During our Colourful Semantics lesson pupils were learning to self-assess their sentences by highlight their Who, Doing, What, Where to the corresponding colours! Such super work☺️

Firework provocations 🎆 Pupils practiced their spelling words by making fireworks in the sky and AG extended her learning by making a beautiful firework picture containing the 2 times table! 🎇

We reflected on being a kind friend to all in the class. We listened to a story about being a kind friend and each picked a name from a hat to create a friendship card for our secret person. The children were so happy to share their cards, they said they felt “happy” and “loved”! Look those smiles🩷🩷

#MathsWeekScotland Today we went on a shape hunt! We have been learning about 2D shapes in class so we were excited to use our knowledge to identify shapes around the school! Great teamwork😊

#MathsWeekScotland Today we recapped our Number Bonds. We became Super Heroes with numbers, danced to Soda Pop and found the partner to make a Number Bond! We challenged ourselves to meet a new partner each time! 🦸🦸‍♂️

Today we were leaning about common nouns. We worked in teams to see if we could think of a noun for every letter of the alphabet! Great teamwork 😊✏️

Today we had Denny High STEM Ambassadors teach us about different parts of a plant 🪴 we then got to plant our own Mungbean seeds! Fantastic afternoon!

INTERNATIONAL DAY IF PEACE ☮️ 😌 🕊️ Today we looked at the meaning of peace and creating a peaceful classroom. We focused on how we play and interact with one another. I am so proud of how the children worked together. We also made art work to include symbols of peace. @antorightsps.bsky.social

Today we enjoyed some shared reading time📚 Every Friday we choose books from the library to bring back to class. We enjoyed revisiting these books and sharing the stories with our friends. Lots of conversations about characters, words and football statistics 😊📖
