I had a foot surgery in November, and spent time on a knee scooter and a boot. I'm back in shoes, but it's still harder than usual to get around on cleared sidewalks, let alone now.

Watching cars speed down cleared streets while watching pedestrians scramble over three foot high snow banks or having to walk in the street to avoid uncleared walkways has the War on Cars part of my brain very activated

I wish there was a viable alternative to the iPhone that wasn’t Google and as secure. But here we are. Pure open source Linux (not android) on a phone just ain’t ready yet.

I also worry it creates a missed opportunity for crucial solidarities between Black citizen and immigrant communities. The state terror that both overlapping communities are faced with right now must be acknowledge for solidarity to be possible.

Apropos of nothing, thru my spouse‘s job we have “ good” insurance. 5yrs ago, I had knee replacement &they made me jump thru 1 million hoops ofc (& we were out of pocket $$$$ too). 1 month later, they sent me a 5-figure bill for the full amount. They *retroactively* unapproved it & demanded I pay up
