5 years of MITOtalks! Feels like it was yesterday when
@wanrooij20.bsky.social
and
@nunoraimundo.bsky.social
opened the first MITOtalk to introduce
@frezzalab.bsky.social
. But it turns out FIVE YEARS have passed. That's 57 MITOtalks, 44 MITOchats, 6000+ followers. Onwards and upwards!

MITOtalks and especially MITOchats have been playing with time travel. This week, instead of bringing the future over, we will get there faster: our speaker will tell us all about a mitochondrial progeria syndrome. Usual time and place.

Two mtDNA papers of ours in one PNAS issue: #1 on the Y951N patient mutation of PolG, heroically spear-headed by Josefin Forslund #2 revealing surprising dNTP imbalance & subsequent mtDNA depletion in RRM2B-deficient mice, a great collaboration with the Chabes lab

It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
