people are genuinely dismayed at the administration and if *I* were a democratic (or even republican) politician who wanted to build myself a nice national platform i would be taking every opportunity to perform that dismay and anger for an audience

what booker is doing right now is an example of what i mean when i say things like “we need more ambition right now.” there is room in american politics right now for people with ambition to take big stands and reap the rewards. he’s doing it!

Remember, the whole point of activism is to translate, ultimately, into policy. And policy is determined by lawmakers, who depend on your vote to get elected. Nothing else matters if you don't participate in the system.
