ROE DEER on CALTON HILL. A probable female 'doe' was spotted on the hill on 16 July, followed by a roebuck on 22 July. There are some roe deer in Holyrood Park, though they are seldom seen. We don't know if our ones are residents or visitors. Please report sightings to <

Tried going for morning coffee at the new cafe on Calton Hill. Didn't make it past the doorway and it looked packed inside, with another queue for take away half blocking the entrance. Won't be back until the summer is over, at the earliest.
