Hedy Lamarr, a famous Hollywood actress from the 1940s, was also a remarkable inventor. She co-invented a frequency-hopping system during World War II to prevent enemies from intercepting torpedoes. This invention laid the groundwork for today's Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth technologies.

Listening to NPR right now and the point is being made about just what a shame it is that our 250th Anniversary is just trash now. And it's so true. There could have been so many forms of celebration of America (not just music but everything) but, yeah, now it's just all turned to shit.

I tried to donate a car to Habitat for Humanity but they've outsourced their donation program to a 3rd-party, that sells to an auction house that then sells to used car dealers. Habitat gets little or nothing which defeats the entire purpose of donating to them. Enshittification of everything.

We have a president who took the nation into a war for reasons he cannot fully articulate, without a strategy for how to respond if Iran did the expected and closed the Strait of Hormuz, and without an exit strategy if Iran doesn’t surrender. Reminder that Congress can step up and stop this.

DEVELOPING: Democratic Senator Chris Murphy just called for exploring Trump's removal from office under the Constitution. Not impeachment. Removal. The 25th Amendment. After the "crazy bastards" and "Praise be to Allah" post. A sitting senator said it out loud.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

#4 The President has said people will die in this war. When deaths are reported they are angry that they are not being praised by how many people are killing. 150 school age children died on the first day of bombing. They are cold, they are heartless, they do not represent the values of this country

#3 We had this situation with the Iraq invasion, the conflict in Afghanistan and more recently the kidnapping of the leader in Venezuela. The Pentagon has an unlimited budget led by a former Fox news host. He does not care about the lives being lost in these conflicts.

#2 We should be telling the congress and senate to do their job and reign in this out of control administration. The speaker of the house and senate majority leader use their power to let this POTUS start another undeclared war. These conflicts cost a fortune, at least 1 billion a day.
