I really like Ancient Realm by Steven Aramini. It crams a lot of decision space into a short play time, and it doesn’t require a huge amount of table space. Nice morning coffee kind of solo game.

I love games. All flavours. Video, tabletop, board, war, miniatures. However you want to dice it, they’re all great.

Some nice thematic details in this. I particularly like the calendar time track that advances as you take actions, and actually sends you back one day when you cross time zones.

Some flipping and writing in Around the World in 80 Days. Perhaps an obvious statement given the Postmark catalagoue but I like map based writing / drawing games.

Saw some gig posters using Ai and that’s no good. Gig posters are a lot of artists first gig, they’re fucking with the ecosystem of students getting £20 so I’m making stickers because thermal label printers are our cheapest propaganda tool

A great thread from Tim about play and leisure. Play should be a priority. Something that can sit alongside work and other obligations as a serious contender for time spent. I’m very grateful I can lead a lifestyle where that’s partly possible. Sadly not the case for a lot of folks.

Fun games of Inis and Big Shot yesterday. Two very different takes on area control / majority.

My partner has an open studio on this weekend, and as part of that we put up paintings and ‘dress’ the front room. This is the first year we’ve done it in the winter and I’m enjoying the Christmas vibes (we’re normally pretty sparse with our decorations)

It’s been a blast working on this. The flooding mechanism makes this dungeon one of the most fun to navigate, and the new characters have very varied playstyles.

Mike makes super interesting games. I can’t wait to check out Crownfell.

First full day off in ages. I put up some shelves, bought some fresh bread, and played a bunch of Anno 117. Pretty good.

I’m really surprised by how much I’m enjoying the theme of the Fellowship of the Ring Trick Taking game. No LoTR board game has made me want to engage with the source material more. No small feat for a trick taker.

I finally beat the first scenario of Resist! I love this game but it’s super hard. Down to my last three Maquis and Consuelo came up clutch.

Played my second game of Inis today and it rocked. Victory was close for all three players, and it was an absolute knife fight in a phone booth until the very end.

We've just announced our latest Postmark Games release: 52 Duels! I'm really happy how this came together; an extremely tense and fun duelling game, only needing a sheet and deck of standard playing cards for each player. Follow on Kickstarter so you know when the project goes live in December!
