@dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social A short walk at Longham Lakes this morning 2 Common Tern, also wonderful to see 4 Tufted Duck ducklings with a female on south lake. 2 Red Veined Darters and a female Black tailed Skimmer seen.

Would anyone have any idea what this is. As did not have a label. I think it might possibly be Juniper but not sure.

Bit of a turn up today on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. Philodromus margaritatus a Lichen Running Crab Spider and nationally rare. Found close to the ground on Maple Bark. Apparently only 19 records. Submitted to i record. Rather chuffed.

A few weeks ago I set up in the garden a none lethal pit fall trap to try and record what type of beetles species might be in the garden. After checking daily and find an empty trap, it was a wonderful surprise to find a Stag Beetle! I think it is a female stag Beetle Lucanus cervus.

Last night's electric storm did precious little for us on the migrant moth front: lots of routine variety at the Obs including 10 Small Mottled Willow, 2 each tumidana & Small Marbled, singles verellus & Splendid Brocade but for us the pick of the catch was a Lappet (still fewer than 10 records)
