How many people opposing shelters in the name of children’s safety push for less cars, lower speed limits, road safety? How many kids were harmed by unhoused people last year compared to drivers?

Believe survivors. Donate to organizations that support survivors. Understand that today is a hard one for most women. We know what it’s like to not be believed and why the systems are not built to protect us.

Normally a nice view of the skyline from Withrow Park, today I can barely make out the CN Tower through the haze.

I only have to step outside to see a car driving the wrong way on our one-way street. But anti-bike people, do go on and tell me about cyclists breaking rules.

I only remember having to wait in line (*maybe* 3-4 people deep) to vote in a Canadian election once. And the person in front of me asked me to go ahead because I had my baby with me. Wishing everyone a smooth voting experience today!

I know a concern from a lot of folks leaving Substack/Twitter/whatever online space is the loss of audience growth, which is a very real concern, but I'll say that I've been seeing good metrics on my newsletter (hosted on Ghost) through Bluesky. Winds are shifting and all that.

I'm back in this week's City Hall Watcher. I make the case that despite their claims to common sense, the premier and minister of transportation have failed to apply the most basic suburban common sense in their assessment of University, Yonge, and Bloor: traffic lights are slow.
