Buffy was huge for me when it came out. A good friend and I watched most episodes at a weekly "Buffy, Beer, and Burritos" night. During a rewatch I finished just last week, I read about the struggles Nicholas Brendon went through since Buffy. Life never went easy for Xander...or Nicholas it seems.

The bus should be free when temperatures get above 80. Let seniors and heat vulnerable folks ride in AC. Give people a break by making it easy and free to not walk a hot few blocks. Get people out of their cars when smog settles and stays.

It is *fascinating* to me how quickly some people have gone completely from “we all must work in the office! human collaboration is vital and only happens in person!” to “I can replace all these pesky people with chatbots!” Definitely some commentary there about our society and who gets to choose.

Wow @sfstandard.com : leading your opinion page with FOUR op-eds against teachers strikes. There was huge parent support for the strikes everywhere I went all around the district. We cannot fix enrollment trends without investing in staff. Who benefits from framing the strike as bad (rhetorical)?

Other places have winter. In San Francisco, we have ant season.

I was talking to a guy who is always following some ill-advised health trend. He nutribragged that he takes moringa powder every day because it's a super food. "Neat!," I replied. "What's in it that's so good for you?" Blank stare. He knew nothing besides the ingestion hype.

Either no one thought about the optics of having only men in this photo or they liked the optics of political men being in charge of the future of San Francisco's downtown just fine.

A Trader Joe's worker I talked to said they're having trouble sourcing meat because suppliers have lost so many workers from deportations and fear of ICE. For the same reasons, produce is getting picked later in its growth, leading to fruit and vegetables that go bad faster and giant, dry oranges.

Another teacher spouse here in agreement! Families were not fooled by the district's brazen lies during negotiations. It fueled the families to organize, find out the real facts, and put out powerful counter narratives.

Congrats to the teachers, paraeducators, school staff, students, and families! And @missionlocal.org kicked it out of the park with its outstanding coverage of the strike. It has become the best news outlet in San Francisco.

Meanwhile up and down the state, donors and funders are telling advocates there's no money this year for efforts to defend democracy against these wealthy tech efforts to tear it down. Same story last year - and the year before that. The fight for democracy needs funding, but donors are cowering.
