You don't need a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. The problem isn't the Constitution, it's the Supreme Court. With a majority that had integrity, it's overturned outright. The current majority would just ignore any amendment, the way they've ignored the ones on voting rights.

That this is descriptively true about how to change the US Constitution as of 2026 is all the evidence you need that judicial supremacy—which makes the Supreme Court the *sole* judge of constitutionality in the political system—is plainly incompatible with constitutionalism & the rule of law as such

Breaking the power of the supreme court is not just about mechanisms, you also have to bring an entirely different vision of what our constitutional framework should be and should it accomplish. You have to disavow their vision by expressing a different one, not simply repeal its impact.

Usually these political corruption maps have complicated plumbing. You know it’s bad when it’s just a closed loop that looks like an inbred family tree.

Dems have performed better in years they ran left—06, 08, 18—but that’s likely because those were also strong turnout years. The best evidence shows progressives don’t outperform moderates, or vice versa. A reasonable read is that progressive primary wins reflect an energized base.

A friendly empirical note for those losing it over progressive primary wins: ideological positioning barely explains Democratic vote shares since 2006. Turnout explains a lot. The party can run to the center all it wants. It won’t help if the base doesn’t show up.
